Mapping of product data of electrical products with designer and builder needs

The most relevant product data needed by electrical designers, contractors and builders has been identified and specified in accordance with standards commonly used by electrical branch in Europe.

This enables high-quality electricity plans and makes the whole supply chain more efficient when designers, contractors, builders, wholesalers and manufacturers can easily find products that fulfill requirements.

Next BIM- and CAD-programs have to be updated to be able to receive this SURA-data from Sahkonumerot.fi-product data service and to support efficient use of that data in designing, documents and modelling.

The long-term target is that this digital product data delivered in uniform format can be used easily and efficiently all the way from the project plan until the delivery of the building and further during the maintenance.

In the specification made by an expert group the most relevant product data needs have been specified in accordance with the Finnish product data standard 2017 and international BMEcat- and ETIM-standards.
