MyHelsinki Open API – places, events and activities (has been taken out of use 1 June 2023)

The interface hasl been taken out of use 1 June 2023 due to economic and technological reasons. To find the same data through the direct interfaces of the databases, please refer to:

• Visit Finland´s DataHub for activities data (requires registration)
• the City of Helsinki's Service Map REST interface for places
• Linked Events for events data

The decision to end the MyHelsinki Open API service is explained in more detail in the blog post by the Tourism and Destination Management Unit (in Finnish).

MyHelsinki Open API

The MyHelsinki Open API was an open interface of three databases maintained by the Travel and Tourism Unit of City of Helsinki. It offered up-to-date information about places, events and activities in and around Helsinki. The idea was this API would increase the usage of open data for both commercial purposes and the city’s development.
