From the dataset abstract

The dataset includes the data for a company interview survey commissioned by the City of Helsinki and carried out by Taloustutkimus Oy for four review years (2016, 2018, 2020 and 2023). The data includes the answers of about four thousand Helsinki-based companies to questions that clarify the views of Helsinki companies on the factors affecting the city's vitality and pro-business vigour. The material is very important in urban development. The report shows, among other things, how satisfied companies are with the city's services, how companies see Helsinki as a location, and what kind of development proposals companies give to the development of the city.

Of the four thousand answers, approximately one thousand are from each review year. The defendants have been companies from Helsinki. The data for 2016-20 has been collected by interviewing company representatives by telephone. The duration of one interview has been approximately 20 minutes. The 2023 survey has been conducted as a telephone-informed online survey. In 2023, an extensive study of the results was prepared for the first time at the City of Helsinki Department of Economic Development (Helsinki Enterprise Survey 2023 — views on the city's vitality factors, 41 p.) and summaries in Swedish and English. The report also includes a large number of open responses from companies.

• the 2016 interviews were conducted between 28 September and 25 October 2016
• the 2018 interviews between 22 November 2018 and 4 January 2019
• the 2020 interviews between 29 September and 3 November 2020
• the 2023 interviews between 19 January and 23 March 2023

The questions for 2023 were slightly changed from earlier ones.

The names, business IDs and years of establishment of the companies that responded and the data on the persons that responded have been removed from the dataset. Data that can be used to identify the respondents has been removed from the open responses.
