The dataset shows the industry noise zones involved in the study calculated with the noise indicators Lden and Lnight according to the Environmental Noise Directive.
The noise level for the entire day, i.e. the day-evening-night level Lden, is the weighted average sound level with time of day penalties. To take account of the greater nuisance of noise in the evening (19–22) and at night (22–07), penalties of 5 dB and 10 dB are imposed on evening and night time noise, respectively. The day-evening-night noise level (Lden) and night noise level (Lnight) are measured 4 metres above the ground.
The results obtained with these indicators and the assessment methods provided for in the Directive cannot be directly compared with national reference values or with the results of other noise studies using different indicators and measurement heights.
